Well I cannot think of a better way to launch my new blog , then to feature a few images from the NYC Fashion Week 2011 at the Lincoln Center for The Performing Arts. I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend Maggie , to cover the closing show by IvanaHelisnki presented by The Kings Collective. I cannot thank them enough for giving us the opportunity to shoot such an amazing event. This was the second year for Designer Paola Suhonen and her sister Pirjo Suhonen, this years line was a beautiful feminine collection called the Velvet Lake for the S/S 2011. Everything looked so comfortable and flowing. IvanaHelsinki is the first woman’s Scandinavian line to have ever been shown at Fashion week. The makeup was applied by freelance artist Brian C Hawkins, with makeup provided by Mirabella Beauty. Hair stylist creating the high fashion up-dos was Tricomi and the Warren Tricomi Team.
To have been given complete access to all areas of the show was a photographers dream
There is so much that goes into a fashion show of this caliber, every little detail is wonderfully planned out and to have the opportunity capture all of that was a treat. From the buzz of excitement outside the center, entering the show through the shadow effect of a Forrest, the falling snow at the front of the runway and the movie that ran at the start, all completing the feel of the Velvet Lake collection. To be there when that first model turned the corner and started up the catwalk with the fifty or so other photographers that were there by me on the platform, I can still remember the sound of all of those cameras set to hyper drive just firing away, it sounded like a war-zone for photography
Just too cool!!!!!! Enjoy!
